A Rustic, Christmas Wedding in Houston

We honestly wouldn’t be able to say enough wonderful things about Kristen & Ethan. Not only was their wedding absolutely gorgeous, they were the sweetest, kindest and most relaxed couple we have ever had the pleasure of working with. We get lucky with how great our couples are, but Kristen & Ethan were just the best of the best.

Something we offer our brides is free engagement & bridal sessions. Typically, we charge if you would like to come do a photo shoot, but our brides get free access. So Kristen did her bridal session & they did their engagements on our grounds, as well, represented in the above photos. They really created the whole wedding experience with us, and we love it.

Kristen & Ethan had an absolutely gorgeous Rustic, Christmas wedding. Doing a themed wedding can be risky, but they walked the line perfectly on making sure the theme held up while still being elegant and timeless. 

We asked Kristen a few questions about her big day and here is what she had to say.

1. What was your favorite part about your wedding day?

“My favorite part of my wedding day was spending time with my bridesmaids and moms in the bridal cottage while getting ready! The cottage was a perfect place to hang out and not worry about everything else that was going on outside.“

2. What was one part of your wedding that you were really happy you decided to do? (ex. videography, decor, type of ceremony, etc,)
“I am happy that we decided to go with the Rustic Christmas theme! The rustic/country feel of the venue perfectly matches our personalities and our favorite holiday is Christmas, so seeing Silver Sycamore transform into a Country Christmas was really a dream come true for us! “

3. If you could give one piece of advice to brides planning their weddings currently, what would it be?

“If the venue gives you a list of preferred vendors, USE THEM! There is a reason why they are preferred. They all work well together and make everything so much easier for their brides. Also, if the venue you chose has an open house, GO TO IT! All of the vendors are there to showcase their work and answer any questions you might have!“

4. Why did you choose Silver Sycamore as your venue?
“MANY REASONS! Silver Sycamore has all packages that fit everyone’s needs/wants, places for guests/bridal party to stay ON SITE, the venue is absolutely breathtaking, and all of the staff are absolutely wonderful! I could go on for days listing reasons on why Silver Sycamore was the perfect place for the Pounds Wedding!“

One really cool thing they incorporated into their western theme, was Shoot Out. We had actors come in and perform a shootout in the middle of the town. It was a really cool feature.
